the WLAN/LAN routing performance of the R7800 is ~700mbit/sek

no further testing needed - the value is known

With no CPU tweaks you’ll be stuck at 700mbps using the on demand governor. The de ...

Great read on the topic. 866 is the PHY rate. Wifi has significant overhead and radio particulars that affect your actual speed. Wifi 5 (AC) is ...

Here is an example with my r6250 set to 260000 downlink / 32000 uplink. My IP address is set to max priority, the rest of the network is quiet. The 260000 is way too much for the router and causes s ...

The problem is the downlink speed. You are going to get sporadic results. 300/33.2 A/B/A+ is proof that you are running out of CPU at ~300 down. Look at the details page of your speed test and you ...

Post a screenshot of your QoS settings. There might be some tweaks.

From the programming side QoS can be further optimized:

2) if piece of cake was added to ...

I’d use either the latest DD-WRT or Merlin’s ASUS particular build:

or

I'm increasingly unconvinced that the router can't handle higher QoS speeds and/or more devices.

This is what we where showing you previously. 7000P is great as an access point or just doing s ...

DD-WRT’s QoS had major upgrades this summer. It’s good but not quite fully as good as it could be. piece_of_cake.qos and layer_cake.qos would be major upgrades over the current htb/hfsc shapers/ ...

My r6250 maxes out at around 650 mbps as well. Firmware changes (Merlin) might get you a hair more but nowhere near gigabit. You need to upgrade your router if you want gigabit.
